Your girlfriend set you up with a guy she knows, again, and you had a lousy time, again. The date started out alright, and he seemed nice enough, until you asked him one question about himself and that was all he wanted to talk about for the rest of the evening. And you weren’t interested in anything he was saying. Your hobbies are totally different than each other, and he had the conversation skills of a goat. It couldn’t have ended too soon. Finally, he dropped you off at your apartment, and you entered just as the phone was ringing saving you from any need for an embarrassing good night kiss. On the phone was your girlfriend, wondering how the date went. You tell her Oh, ok meaning please don’t ever set me up again. But if you want to find someone special, what’s a better way?

Drumroll, please! For many singles, online dating is the best way to find a companion! I know, I know, you’re not too sure about online dating for singles being best, from what you heard way back in the nineties, when internet dating services got a bad rap. But they’ve changed, or shall we say evolved into the great option for singles looking for love.

Increased Participation

Now that the Internet isn’t so young anymore and the percentage of people who have access and interest in the Internet is higher than ever, the number of people registered on the best online dating sites for singles has risen dramatically. Talk gets around about which sites have success in matching couples together if your best friend found her new boyfriend on a certain site, wouldn’t you want to go check it out for yourself?

Increased Specialties

Along with the increase in participants and available sites, there are more specialized sites. Those who are interested in a particular type of person for example, Christians online for dating will have best luck on a site that specializes in such matches.

Increased Security

First of all, the best news is online singles dating sites have increased their security features. Now, most sites have a form of photo verification, so that a registrant has to post a photo that looks at least somewhat like their drivers license photo. No more posting photos of Julie Roberts if you look like Phyllis Diller!

Also, some sites do other forms of fact-checking, so that registrants have to at least make a basic attempt at honesty as they fill out the online form.

Given the changes in online dating sites, singles do best giving them another look!
